DIABETIC ALERT DOGS

Diabetic Alert Dogs alert the handler to low and high glucose situations. This is a critical tool for those diabetics that do not 'feel their lows or highs - particularly during the night. A diabetic alert dog is in the medical alert catagory.

All service dogs must be public access certified. This requires considerable training and temperament stability so that the public is safe and the team is controlled. Most dogs that fail to become certified service dogs do so because they fail the public access criteria.
